Pop Smoke’s Mother Reacts To Killer’s Comments

Pop Smoke’s mother Audrey Jackson sat down with HOT 97’s TT Torrez for an emotional discussion leading up to what would have been the drill rapper’s 25th birthday.

During her conversation with Torrez, Audrey Jackson expressed her views on the release of the individual convicted of allegedly killing her son. Per TSR, a judge did not disclose the man’s name to the public due to his status as a minor at the time of the 2020 incident.

Now, the individual known as Blockstar has stepped forward and made his first public comments since his release from prison. The New York Post reports that Blockstar, formerly known as King Vermont Raskel, appeared on the ‘No Jumper’ podcast to discuss his case and the incident that resulted in the tragic death of Pop Smoke. While speaking with Adam 22, Blockstar appeared to display no remorse for the tragedy.

“I’m not sorry about nothing. It should’ve never happened, but I ain’t sorry. If I could go back, I’ll go back. But I ain’t sorry. N****s die every day. Pop Smoke was rapping about it. All type of s***. So, I ain’t sorry about it. I send my condolences to the family. I wish it never happened. But, I don’t regret nothing, Blockstar said.

Audrey Jackson responded to questions about Blockstar’s release and his recent interview, stating that she doesn’t follow updates on such matters.

“I’m not tuned into that. It’s not apart of my world. I have people who will come and say, Have you heard? They’ll hit me up and say, Ma you okay?,” Jackson stated.

Audrey Jackson further clarified that she chooses not to dwell on the disrespectful remarks made by Blockstar.

“I felt a way when you just said he was being disrespectful because I’ve been told he’s been interviewing and being disrespectful. I gotta let that go because that’ll eat me up, I gotta let that go. The bottom line is your life is over. His life is finished. He’s living but if that’s his approach to what he’s done, life is done for him,” Jackson explained.

Here’s What Blockstar Said About Pop Smoke’s Murder

As The Shade Room previously reported, Pop Smoke tragically lost his life when four men invaded a Hollywood Hills, California home where the 20-year-old rapper was staying in February 2020.

According to the New York Post, Pop Smoke sustained three gunshot wounds to his back. He later succumbed to the injuries at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
Blockstar reportedly entered a guilty plea for voluntary manslaughter and home invasion robbery in 2023, resulting in a four-year prison sentence. The New York Post further revealed that during his interview on the ‘No Jumper’ podcast, Blockstar clarified that Pop Smoke’s death was not preplanned.
“It was a robbery. Nobody sent us. Nobody did none of that. Nobody was intended to get hurt. We was just kids being kids — being kids from the hood. And there was too much movement. Movement from everybody. Too much s**t going on. Just too much s**t going on. It wasn’t intentional,” Blockstar explained.

Blockstar further explained that during his upbringing, he was taught to always take accountability for his actions and stand by them.

“Growing up my people, my family told me, You ain’t sorry for s**t. Whatever you did, you did it for a reason and stand on it.”
