Nkumba University is through to the final of the 2023-2024 University Football League (UFL).
This follows a 1-all draw with visiting Kampala University during the return leg of the semifinals played at the Nkumba main playground in Nkumba, Katabi Town Council in Wakiso district on Tuesday, 2nd April 2024.
Joshua Odeke gave Kampala University the lead in the 35th minute.
The hosts replied with a powerful header from Ishaque Balyawo three minutes before restart of play in the second half.
It then called for a collective team display from Nkumba University players to hold onto the result that guaranteed them a 2-1 aggregate victory.
Nkumba University had triumphed 1-0 in the first leg played at the Luzira prisons stadium last week.
Christened as the “Beach Boys“, Nkumba University will now face Uganda Christian University (UCU) in the final on 20th April 2024 at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo in Kampala city.
This will be Nkumba University’s second final in as many seasons since 2017.
UCU played in the 2019 final and won over St Lawrence University.
