NBS Youth Voice presenter Dorah Irungi inspired by Johnny Drille and Don Jazzy’s recognition

NBS Youth Voice and Pulse Radio presenter and emcee Dorah Irungi could not contain her emotions when Nigerian artists Johnny Drille and Don Jazzy reshared a video of her performing their song.

“This made me smile so much. We really made a cross-generational and timeless record,” Johnny Drille captioned the video in which Irungi, together with her team at NBS Youth Voice, appeared performing for students at Immaculate Heart Girls School, Nyakibale.

In the video, the trio, Dorah Irungi, MC Ollo, and Bavis MC, are seen hyping up the students to Johnny Drille’s song ‘How Are You (My Friend)’.

The energy and sync of the performers and the students seem to have also attracted the attention of celebrated Nigerian producer and singer, Don Jazzy, who also posted it across his social media pages, captioning it with teary and heart emojis.

It should be noted that the NBS Youth Voice team was involved in a car crash following that performance, leaving their car damaged. None of them, however, sustained serious injuries.

“Our car crushed while returning to the city after this show, but we sustained zero injuries. God approves of the work that’s why he sent His angels to protect us,” MC Ollo tweeted.

While speaking to Mbu, Dorah Irungi expressed her happiness, noting that seeing a video of her on the African music stars’ pages was such an honour.

She said that it is something that she will forever hold in a special place in her heart.

I actually didn’t know (about Johnny Drille posting the video). Some colleagues sent me screenshots. It’s an honor, lucky to have been apart of that amazing space and the amazing young people gathered together experiencing moments of pure love and joy.

It’s now definitely going to hold a special place in my heart. It’s not easy being amidst a big crowd of young people who see you as an inspiration, and I believe it’s going to pave the way for me to be able to ultimately interact with the beautiful souls and hopefully inspire more.
