Kitara are bidding to overturn a 3-2 deficit suffered in the first leg against Libya’s Al Hilal Benghazi when the two face off at the Martyrs of Benina on Friday.
The Royals hosted the first leg at the same venue and a shambolic opening half an hour saw them succumb to defeat.
Now, Brian Ssenyondo will hope to have picked lessons from the continental debut as Kitara need a two-goal margin win to progress to the next stage where Al Masry of Egypt is lurking.
Denis Omedi who netted a second goal in the game to leave the tie evenly poised is confident of getting the desired result.
“We didn’t get the desired result in the first leg, but every player gave their all, especially in the second half,” he said to the club media.
“It will be a very tough game, but we have the determination and confidence to go far,” he stated.
From the reverse fixture, Kitara understand that the backline of Ronald Otti, Arthur Kiggundu, Maxwell Owachigiu and Benjamin Nyakoojo must be lethal after struggling in the opening half.
The Royals will miss the services of goalkeeper Crispus Kusiima who was sent off in the first leg leaving Farouk Yawe with the task of stopping Muhammad Shaban and company from hitting the back of his net.
