Joshua Baraka recently revealed that he is friends with Nigerian superstar Wizkid even though they haven’t physically met yet.
In an interview with a YouTuber, Baraka shared how his connection with Wizkid and his circle has grown over time. Baraka disclosed that he’s especially close with DJ Tunez, who happens to be Wizkid’s DJ.
Baraka got a chance to attend a party organized by DJ Tunez in recent months and the star-studded event was attended by several prominent figures in the music industry, including Sarz, a well-known producer, and Wizkid himself.
Despite the party atmosphere, Baraka didn’t get too close to Wizkid as the Grammy award-winning artist was working in the studio above his.
I was there in the gang but I didn’t get close because the studios we were working in, I was in the lower room and he in the upper studio.
Interestingly, Baraka mentioned that he shares a strong connection with P Prime, one of Wizkid’s producers, which allowed him to hang out backstage with the group.
Although he didn’t have the chance to speak directly to Wizkid, Baraka describes the experience as memorable, stating, “It was a really nice experience for me. Wizkid is indeed a star.”
Baraka hinted that his opportunity to finally meet Wizkid might be just around the corner. He will be returning to the UK this week for his sold-out show, and since Wizkid is still in town, he hopes to connect with the Afrobeats star.
