Brian Omirambe scored late to earn Maroons their first win of the season against newcomers Lugazi who are yet to taste victory.
The forward converted from the spot after Muhammad Gift Lubega handled in the area and was sent off after receiving a second yellow in the 88th minute.
It was Maroons’ first win in four attempts and lifts them to 11th position with 5 points while Lugazi who have found life difficult in the premier league lie at the bottom with just one point.
After the international break, Maroons visit NEC at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo on October 19 while Lugazi will host fellow newcomers Mbale Heroes looking to get off the mark.
The league goes into the break with KCCA occupying top spot with 10 points while Bright Stars, BUL and Lugazi are the bottom three.
