ISBAT University dismisses main campus eviction claims.

ISBAT University has refutes rumourrs claiming that they are facing court eviction from their main campus sitting on plot 11 A Rottery Drive- Lugogo Bypass.

This follows a publication by an online news platform titled “ISBAT university faces eviction after government cancels it’s land title” which the lawyer representing ISBAT said was “misguided” and “misinformed”

The Institution’s lawyer Tony Tumukunde urged public, students and parents to treat the matter with its utmost contempt that it deserves to avoid further damage to the institutions reputation and image.

During a press conference on Friday 5rh December 2025, Tumukunde said that the land in which the university main camp is located is not in any dispute with any agency.

He clarified that the university is instead has a case pending hearing in court with the land located in Naguru Plot 54 against a four member Muslim group known as Misbahu –Din Muslim Community comprising of Shake Jamil Muwonge, Hadat Matovu, Ahmed Matovu, and Hajat Maimuna Namudu.

“The university has been here since its inception. No one has ever questioned its ownership. Plot 11, Rotary Drive, where we sit as the main campus, is not in contention before any court or government agency, and its title has not been canceled,” he said

 The Vice Chancellor of ISBAT University Prof. K.M. Mathiew confirmed that the information alleged that appeared in the news platform was fabricated and false guaranteeing students and the parenting that “the information is absolutely wrong and there is no any dispute at all on plot 11 A Lugogo Bypass. The heading is creating a confusion”

According to ISBAT university, Justice Joyce Kavuma ruled on November 28, 2025 of  the High Court  dismissed an application by Misbahu Din Muslim Community Ltd and Hanifa Nabuuma, who had sought judicial review of directives allegedly issued by the Minister of State for Lands concerning land in Naguru, accusing the minister of illegally directing the cancellation of their titles and sought declarations, certiorari, prohibition, and damages was cancelled on ground that the application was premature and not amenable to judicial review. 

The State Minister for Lands, Sam Mayanja, directed cancellation of the Muslim community's title, citing unlawful issuance by the Kampala District Land Board, stating the land belongs to ISBAT.

The Public Relations Officer of ISBAT University Mr. Patrick Kumba said that he is convinced that those who first filed that case of Naguru land and was canceled in in the lead to tarnish the image of the university while facilitating false information.

The university has enrolled students from over 20 countries in Africa and beyond including Kanya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Eritrea among others.
