Houssem Aouar has already teased his next move amid talk of signing for Arsenal in £20m transfer
Arsenal transfer news includes Houssem Aouar's previous comments about his future as the midfielder is once again being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium
Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar has already put Arsenal fans on alert with an admission about his future.
One of the biggest transfer sagas from when last summer's transfer window opened all the way up until deadline day involved the Frenchman and a potential move to the Emirates Stadium.
However, with Lyon reportedly demanding £55m for the 23-year-old in a deal which never materialised as Arsenal splashed £45m to sign Thomas Partey instead.
That could turn out to be a wise choice as reports claim that Aouar's price-tag has dropped significantly as a £20m bid could be enough to secure his signature this summer.
Arsenal have once again been linked with the creative midfielder who has already teased that his appearance on the final day of the 2020/21 Ligue 1 season might have been his last in Lyon colours.
"This could be (my last match at Lyon), but it could also not be," he said in a press conference. "I do not ask myself these sorts of questions before an important match like this.
"I have not played as much as I would have liked. I struggled to come back after COVID. A pretty mixed season (for me). I have improved in terms of managing injuries.
"I am happy with my statistics in the few matches that I have done, so a mixed season. I feel good, I am at 100% for this match."
Whilst Aouar may have teased an exit this summer, it remains to be seen if Arsenal will be able to get a deal over the line.
According to ESPN, the Gunners are considering making an offer for Aouar in the coming weeks, but it's on the condition that they're able to move on a couple of players first.
As a result, any deal bringing Aouar to the Emirates could be dependant on the likes of Granit Xhaka - who has already agreed personal terms with AS Roma - and Lucas Torreira leaving
One midfielder who has already departed this summer is Aouar's fellow France U21 international Matteo Guendouzi as his loan move to Marseille was completed on Tuesday.
But whether it's a case of one Frenchman out and one Frenchman in at Arsenal this summer remains to be seen.
With that said, two players who are expected to join the Gunners are left-back Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga in a £25m double swoop.
