From Dreams to Driveways! My Journey to Owning My First Car

Two years ago, I was working as a cashier in a small supermarket in Mbale, Uganda. My salary barely covered rent, food, and a few personal expenses. Every day, I would watch cars pass by on the road and dream of the day I could own one. I imagined the freedom of not relying on taxis or boda bodas, of taking my mother to church on Sundays without worrying about transport money. But owning a car felt like a dream meant for other people, not someone like me.
I tried saving money, but something always came up. My younger brother needed school fees, my roof started leaking, or I had to help a friend in need. By the end of each month, my savings were gone. I even considered taking a loan, but the high interest rates and the fear of falling into debt held me back. Slowly, I began to think that maybe my dream of buying a car would never come true.TO READ MORE, TAP HERE
