EXPOSED!! Presidential Candidate Is Seen In Viral Clip Telling Supporters To Vote Museveni & Not Him

A viral video showing presidential candidate Robert Kasibante encouraging voters to support President Yoweri Museveni instead of himself has caused widespread confusion and amusement on social media. Many Ugandans are asking: who is really in charge of this campaign?

Kasibante is the flagbearer of the National Peasants Party (NPP). Just weeks before his nomination, he was filmed praising Museveni as the right leader for Uganda and urging people to vote for him in the upcoming elections.

When asked to explain the video on local television, Kasibante admitted that he had initially planned to run as an independent candidate in Busujju for a parliamentary seat. He said he befriended Museveni to better understand his leadership style and political strategies. His goal, he claims, is to defeat Museveni in the 2026 general elections.

The incident has thrown the National Peasants Party into further confusion. Their former party president, Stecia Mayanja Faridah, was recently seen dancing and singing at Museveni’s rally in Kololo, while Kasibante’s nomination process was ongoing. This sparked embarrassment and criticism from party members.

The party summoned Mayanja Faridah to explain her actions, but she did not appear. She later resigned as party president and officially left the NPP, creating a leadership vacuum and intensifying internal disagreements.

In Uganda, allegations of government influence over certain presidential candidates are not uncommon. After the 2021 elections, there were claims that Museveni financially supported opposition campaigns, which led to splits within FDC and the creation of the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF).

Kasibante, a first-time presidential candidate, told NBS Eagle on Sunday that his nomination was achieved through personal effort combined with support from the NPP, despite the challenges he faced along the way.

“By the grace of God, I was nominated. It wasn’t easy, but my party gave me great support,” he said, underscoring the rocky journey to secure his place on the ballot.

The viral clip has sparked debate about the credibility and intentions of certain presidential aspirants, with some questioning whether candidates are being used to confuse voters or weaken the opposition.

This episode highlights the complex dynamics of Uganda’s political scene, where alliances, loyalty, and strategic positioning often intersect with public perception and social media scrutiny, leaving voters unsure about who to trust.
