Uganda national U-20 team (Hippos) at the AFCON U-20 CECAFA zonal qualifiers in Tanzania will be led by defender Brian Toto Majub.

Toto is part of the 20-man team that will represent Uganda in the tournament that kicks off 6th October until 20th October 2024.

He will be deputized by Uganda Revenue Authority’s John Innocent Kisolo.

Head coach Matia Lule has high hopes and expectations for the team selected with the prime target to defend the trophy and qualify for AFCON U-20 tournament.

“We have trained well and the players are in the best shape for the best results going forward. We shall work hard to defend the trophy and qualify for AFCON U-20” Lule whose team has been camped at the FUFA Technical center, Njeru revealed.

Uganda is the defending champion and is pooled in group B alongside Ethiopia, Burundi, and South Sudan.

The Hippos commence their title defence against Ethiopia on Monday, October 7th, at the Azam Complex, kick-off at 18:00 EAT.

The delegation departs Uganda at Entebbe International Airport aboard Uganda Airlines on Friday afternoon.
