Eboni K. Williams Reveals She’s Pregnant Through IVF

On Wednesday, June 5, PEOPLE published an exclusive interview with the 40-year-old, who revealed that she is expecting her first child on August 16. Additionally, Williams informed the platform that she is expecting a baby girl.

While speaking about her journey to motherhood, Williams reflected on her use of IVF, otherwise known as in vitro fertilization. The outlet notes that Williams used “her frozen eggs to pursue motherhood via sperm donation” in conjunction with IVF.

The TV host called the process a “remarkable miracle.”

“Anybody who’s gone through IVF or attempted IVF will tell you so many things have to go right for the final result of this journey to be a baby,” Williams explained. “That’s why I’ve called this ‘my remarkable miracle,’ because it really does feel like I’ve been the recipient of some very enormous favor from God above.”

The 40-year-old explained that she did one egg retrieval at the age of 34. At the time, she wasn’t sure if the process would yield results. However, six years later, the outcome feels like “fate.”

“I did one egg retrieval at 34 years old, not really having a clear intention on if I would use those eggs or when I would use the eggs,” she told the outlet. “And six years later, that one egg retrieval led to one genetically normal embryo, which led to one successful embryo transfer and — one pregnancy later — I’ll soon have, God willing, one beautifully healthy baby girl. So it really does feel like fate.”

The TV Host Opens Up About “Shaking” Off Her “Timeline”

While speaking with the outlet, the 40-year-old admitted she didn’t always dream of becoming a mom.

“I want to say that with conviction and clarity; I was not the little girl that grew up fantasizing about having kids and what I would name them and all of that,” she said. “That was not my dream or fantasy. I had no real expectation around it.”

However, in recent years, Williams explained that she had a major realization and “freed” herself from feeling as if she had to do motherhood in the “traditional way.”

“I really freed myself of the rigidness of what legacy, love, and family could look like,” Williams, who is currently single, explained. “Those are the three pillars I reassessed, and it helped shake me from this idea of, ‘I have to have it this way on this timeline everyone else is following.'”

Before concluding her sentiments, Williams firmly reiterated that she’s handling life on her own time rather than anyone else’s.

“There will always be that voice that says, ‘Maybe I should have waited to meet a man and remarry before I had a baby. Maybe I should not be trying to do this alone,'” she admitted. “But f**k that! I’m not waiting. I’m 40 years old. I’m not waiting to build assets. I’m not waiting to build my career. I’m not waiting to travel. And I’m certainly not waiting to start a family… Everything I want to do, I’m doing right now. And I’m excited. I feel as ready as I’m ever going to be.”

Eboni K. Williams Made Headlines Last Year After Saying THIS

As The Shade Room previously reported, Williams went viral in May 2023 after declaring that she wouldn’t date a bus driver unless he owned the business.

At the time, her comments prompted criticism, and the TV host doubled down on her stance.

“I am actually speaking and pouring into the ascension of Black men when I said what I said. But no, some of y’all were too busy naming and shaming me personally, and Black women in general, as undesirable golddiggers,” she explained during her show, ‘The Grio News With Eboni K Williams.’

Williams shared that she finds “nothing wrong” with being a bus driver. However, she believes America has sold a “narrative of average, regular, and typical” as “good enough” to “Black America.”

From there, the TV host continued to catch backlash for her comments. However, she didn’t stop from doubling down on her stance.
