Biden's making sure voters know Trump is a convicted criminal

Donald Trump is a criminal. That’s not hyperbole; it’s a fact. And it’s a fact the Biden campaign wants voters to remember—with a $50 million ad buy in a number of swing states. “In the courtroom, we see Donald Trump for who he is,” the ad’s narrator says. “He’s been convicted of 34 felonies, found liable for sexual assault, and he committed financial fraud.” YouTube Video It’s a pretty devastating opener that, unless you’re a card-carrying member of the MAGA cult, should make you pause for a moment to question whether you really want that person in the White House. And some voters are pausing. A new Ipsos poll for Politico Magazine found that 21% of independents say Trump’s conviction is an important factor for them and makes them less likely to vote for him.  That’s in addition to other recent polling that shows how much Trump’s conviction turns off independent voters. In fact, 49% of them say he should drop out of the race. His guilty verdict also isn’t doing him any favors with the so-called double haters: voters who dislike both Trump and President Joe Biden. Those voters overwhelmingly believe Trump committed a crime, and 66% of them think he should drop out. “This election’s between a convicted criminal who’s only out for himself,” the narrator in the Biden ad says, “and a president who’s fighting for your family.” Some Democratic strategists have suggested, unbelievably, that Democrats shouldn’t focus on the fact that the Republican presidential nominee is a convicted criminal. But the Biden campaign understands that’s absolute nonsense.  Despite Republican attempts to spin Trump’s guilty verdict as a positive, most voters disagree. Being a criminal and a crook and a sexual abuser is bad, it and should be disqualifying for any elected office, let alone the highest in the land. Campaign Action
