Zafaran dismisses rumors of being groomed as Winnie Nwagi’s replacement at Swangz Avenue

Zafaran addressed rumours circulating about her being groomed to replace Winnie Nwagi at Swangz Avenue.

Since her signing with the label in March 2022, speculation has grown, suggesting that she was brought in as a potential replacement for the “Fire Dancer” hitmaker.

In a recent interview, Zafaran rejected these claims. “This is my third year at Swangz Avenue. If I was a replacement, would she still be here?” she questioned, dismissing the talk as unfounded.

Zafaran said that she and Winnie Nwagi have different musical styles, and her presence at Swangz Avenue isn’t intended to mirror or overshadow Nwagi’s success.

In fact, she praised Winnie’s exceptional talent, sharing how she had admired her, especially during her time performing in live bands.

Zafaran acknowledged that the rumours could be coming from people recognising her potential, but she made it clear that the label has no intentions of molding her into another Winnie Nwagi.
