Pretty Vee Receives Her First Honorary Degree
Over the weekend, Vee took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos with her followers. The photos featured her rocking a red, black, and gold graduation gown with a black cap adorned with a gold tassel.
In the caption of her post, Vee shared more context for her followers.
“From now on , Address Me As Dr.Excell
I am Very honored & blessed to receive my First Honorary Doctoral In Humanitarianism!
” she wrote. “Thank You Jesus, Mother,Family, Friends For Always Supporting Me Through It All! This Moment Right Here Is ALL GOD….”
As her caption continued, Vee shared a prayer with her fans before thanking them for “always rooting” for her.
In a second carousel shared on the platform, Vee shared photos of her posing alongside her honorary doctorate. Additionally, the comedian even shared footage of the moment she accepted the honor.

Another Set Of Celebrities Recently Received Their Honorary Degrees
In March, fellow celebrity Bobby Brown and his wife, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, also received honorary degrees. As The Shade Room previously reported, the couple was given the honor by the Leaders Esteem Christian Bible University. The institution reportedly is an “accredited Christian Bible University.”
The honor was reportedly given to the Browns for their “notable philanthropic contributions” spawned through the Bobbi Kristina Serenity House. To note, Bobbi Kristina is Brown’s late daughter, whom he shares with the late singer, Whitney Houston.
According to Houston Style Magazine, the Bobbi Kristina Serenity House was reportedly created to “bring awareness to the epidemic of domestic violence against women.”
At the time, social media users’s reactions largely contrasted with the ones shared toward Pretty Vee.
