Minister Lugolooi & PLU S. G. Fadhil Harmonise Kayunga Disputes as Kyegegwa Baraza is Set for 22nd August
The State Minister for Finance, Planning and Economic Development in charge of Planning, Hon. Amos Lugoloobi, together with the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Secretary General, Hon. Fadhil Twaha last week held a harmonization meeting with the Kayunga District PLU Coordinating Leaders.
The meeting that was was held at PLU offices in Naguru was convened to resolve leadership disputes within the district and to unite the PLU Coordinators and members ahead of the official local structure announcement.
Addressing the leaders, Hon. Lugoloobi emphasized the need for unity, discipline, and service.
"PLU is about patriotism and delivering for the people of Kayunga. We cannot afford divisions. Let us work as one team under the guidance of our Chairman, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba,"_ he said.
Hon. Fadhil Twaha, PLU Secretary General urged coordinators to desist from extortion, gatekeeping, and selfish interests that undermine the PLU agenda.
"The new PLU leadership is about inclusiveness and results. Kayunga must lead by example and across the country," SG Twaha noted.
Among the resolution includes having all PLU factions that had been created in Kayunga to work under one coordinated district committee through PLU’s Jimmy Lwangawhi was appointed by the Chairman, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba
It was also agreed to intensify mobilisation and sensitization on PLU agenda and its cause of transforming Uganda among others.
The Kayunga district PLU leaders thanked the Minister and the Secretary General for their intervention and pledged to implement the resolutions immediately.

Meanwhile PLU is set to hold a community Baraza in Kyegegwa district on 22nd August2026at Humura playground.
The main aim of the Baraza according to PLU is to engage with the grassroot community to “create a free and respective space where leaders and citizens can discuss gaps in service delivery”
During a press conference on the sidelines of the Kayunga Harmonization meeting, the Secretary General PLU Twaha said that PLU will work with Local leaders, MPs, PLU Coordinators, the community, supporters and others to listen to the concerns of the people to work together to “bridge the gap between the population and government” while presenting the reports to relevant agencies and ministries voluntarily.
The Secretary General was flanked by the Woman MP Kyegegwa Jackie Kyogabirwe Muganda, Sub region Coordinator and Deputy Director Mobilisation Henry Basalisa, Kyegegwa Coordinator J. Kyalimpa, among others.
