Uganda Premier League side Maroons FC has on Friday confirmed their first signing in the ongoing transfer window.

The Prison Warders have announced the signing of defender Apollo Kagogwe from Wakiso Giants FC on a two-year deal with an option of extending an additional year. The deal was confirmed by the club via their social media platforms.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Apollo Kagogwe from Wakiso Giants on a 2-year contract, with an option to extend for additional year.” The statement reads.

Kagogwe has been at Wakiso Giants FC for the last two seasons. His versatility allows him to play comfortably both as a right back and a central defender.

He has been a regular with the Uganda U20 National Team (Uganda Hippos) featuring at the 2023 AFCON U20 Tournament in Egypt and the African Games in Ghana this year.

Before joining Wakiso Giants FC, Kagogwe had featured for the now defunct Tooro United FC.
