Kampala Parents School shares official Eulogy Message on Old Boy King Oyo
The fallen King Oyo

The Management of Kampala Parents School has shared a heartfelt eulogy and condolence message following the passing of the Omukama of Tooro, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, on August 27, 2026.

The school community mourned him not just as a reigning monarch, but as a cherished "Old Boy" whom they once nurtured in their classrooms and playgrounds.

“The Board, Management, Staff, Parents, Pupils and Alumni of Kampala Parents' School have received with profound shock and deep sorrow the news of the passing of His Majesty, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, on 27th August 2026. On behalf of our Chairman, Principal and KPS fraternity, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to: Her Majesty The Queen Mother Best Kemigisa, The Royal Family of Tooro Kingdom, The Prime Minister of Tooro Kingdom and the Kingdom administration, The People of Tooro and the People of Uganda, The entire KPS family - our parents, staff, and alumni worldwide” a statement partly reads

The school management has described him as a humble and gentle leader who remained deeply connected to ordinary people throughout his life, while they watched him grow and learn at school.

“A true son of KPS, we do not just mourn a King; we mourn our own Old Boy. We mourn a child we once nurtured in our classrooms and on our playgrounds. At Kampala Parents' School, His Majesty was more than a pupil. Even as a young Prince who had ascended to the throne at the tender age of three, he showed what we strive to instill in every child at KPS” they said

They also paid tribute to the mother and the Tooro Kingdom leadership for raising a young boy carrying an extraordinary responsibility and guided him into becoming a gentleman and a great King.

“His life is a living testimony to our school motto and our philosophy: KPS provides holistic education where values, confidence, leadership and responsible citizens are nurtured. From the child who once played in our compound to the King who inspired a nation, His Majesty proved that a good foundation lasts a lifetime. We stand with the Kingdom of Tooro during this profoundly difficult time. We call upon our KPS community to remain prayerful, united and calm: reads the statement
