Paul Put has reacted to Uganda Cranes 2025 Afcon qualifiers draw labelling group K as fair and playable.

Uganda, aiming to return to the finals for the first time since 2019 will take on 1996 winners and last edition’s bronze medalists, 1972 champions Congo and neighbours South Sudan.

“I think it is a fair group,” said Put. “There are no easy games but I think it is fair and playable. Of course, you can’t underestimate anything but it is a fair group.”

The Cranes will start with a trip to South Africa in September before hosting Congo.

Match day three and four will be back-to-back encounters against familiar foes South Sudan in October before return matches versus South Africa and Congo in November.

The Afcon final tournament will be played in Morocco in December 2025.
