Kawempe Muslim Secondary School reclaimed the Fresh Dairy USSSA girls football national title.

This followed a tense 5-4 post-match penalty victory over Rines Secondary School in the final played at the Standard High Secondary School Ndejje Campus playground on Friday, 21st June 2024.

Normal time of this end-to-end contest had ended goal-less before the post-match penalties were called to decide the winners.

The tournament was originally first played in May 2024 until the quarter final stage before it was pushed ahead to June to allow adequate preparations for the Uganda U-16 national team (girls).

Since Wednesday, 19th June 2024, the quarter finals were played with the semi-finals and other classification matches held on the subsequent day.

2023 champions Amus College School bowed out at the semi-final stage to Rines Secondary School 2-0.

Kawempe Muslim SS outsmarted rivals St Noa Girls 2-0 in the other semi-final contest.

Individual awards:

Bridget Nansamba of Rines SS was named the best goalkeeper. St Noa’s Slyvia Kabene scored 22 goals to take the golden boot whilst Prisca Ayerango of Rines SS was the most valuable player of the tournament.

Focus now switches to the preparations for ball games 2 for boys and girls’ football U-16.

The nationals will take place at Teso College Aloet in Soroti.

After the USSSA ball games II, Ugandan schools will drift their preparations for the 2024 FEASSSA Games in Bukedea, to be jointly held at Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School.

Girls football will be represented by Kawempe Muslim School (also the FEASSSA champions 2023), Amus Rines Secondary School, Amus College School, St Noa Girls School and Bukedea Comprehensive (hosts).
