Graduates Advised to Utilize their Capabilities & Values to Solve Real-World Problems at the 14th Cavendish University Ceremony.

Over 985 students who were studying at Cavendish University Uganda completed their studies with Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificates in various disciplines during the 14th graduation ceremony held on 21st August 2025 at Speke Resort Convention Centre, Uganda
The Class of 2025 ceremony attracted dignitaries, partners, sponsors, and parents, who witnessed the confirmation of the graduates presided over by the University Chancellor by H.E. Jonathan Goodluck, also the former President of Nigeria.
The theme of the 2025 graduation was: “Empowering Futures: Cultivating Leaders for a Global Tomorrow.”
During the graduation ceremony, the Guest of Honour, Mr. Bernard Paul Mono, The Ag. Director General of East Africa Development Bank (EADB) urged graduates to leverage the skills, knowledge acquired from Cavendish University to take on the future with the right leadership in shaping and innovating to solve community challenges.
“Stay informed, remain resilient to overcome challenges and give value to the community. The best days are ahead of you. You have all it takes to bring transformation,” he said.

While making his speech, the Chancellor, Cavendish University H. E. Goodluch Jonathan, while congratulating the graduates, highlighted that for leaders in society, there has to be strong consideration to education, which he said is the compass to a brighter tomorrow.
He applauded the university for championing excellence and innovation to bring forth competent citizens.
“As Chancellor, I am deeply proud of what this University represents: a centre of excellence, innovation, and transformation. Our mission to inspire ethical leaders and promote global citizenship is our vision and legacy. Education was my compass. Your resilience is your first qualification as a leader,” he said
He urged graduands to “go forth and be the progress the world so desperately needs. Lead not just with your minds, but with hearts. The future is yours to shape. Make your mark. May you go far, and take others with you. Go forth and lead with purpose, integrity, and compassion.”
The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Olive Sabiiti told graduates to realize their full potential in entrepreneurship, ethical leadership, to sustainably grow and be impactful.
She outlined the guidance frames that, if anchored well, will prepare them for the skies in determination, including: knowledge, competence, resources, relationships, and reputation.
One of the best students from the Science & Technology department, Duku Robert Kenyi, was awarded a cash UGX 1,000,000 Tanya Innovation Africa, together with Nakaweesi Shakira Mercy from the same department awarded by Prof. John Mugisha &Family Award for Best Health Sciences Student with a cash prize of 500,000/= and a Plaque
From the Law department was Falu Sey Best Law Student Awarded by Anguria and Co. Advocates with a Cash Prize of UGX 1,000,000 & A Set of Red Volumes together with Law and Mirriam Gladys Lawoko, awarded by Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga Award for Best Female Law Student and a cash prize of UGX 2,000,000, among others.
Robert Duku
Duku Robert Kenyi, one of the award winners, during an interview on the sidelines of the ceremony, expressed gratitude for having graduated with a degree in information technology.
He said that his story is very astonishing, right from 2020 when he was in a cleaning company, but slowly, through grit and support of the university through scholarships made it to graduation.
He added that the award for Best Science & Technology Student Award, the cash prize means a lot to him, depicting is hard work and determination to succeed. He said that he is going to pursue a Master's degree soon at the Cavendish University.
