Muhammad Shaban scored a brace with other goals from Ashraf Mugume and Ettiene Katenga as dominant KCCA beat Mbarara City 4-0 at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
The Kasasiro were dominant from the start to finish and created several goal scoring opportunities that were not converted.
Mugume gave Abdallah Mubiru’s men a deserved lead from a stunning free kick in the 15th minute after he handled forced a hand ball from the Mbarara City defender.
It was 2-0 at the half hour mark as Shaban converted a penalty awarded after Baker Magumba fouled Katenga in the area.
The striker refused to take a kick as KCCA bowed out of the Uganda Cup last week but made no mistake from 12 yards.
Four minutes after restart, Shaban grabbed his second from close range following a neat low cross from Haruna Lukwago.
Katenga got his name on the score sheet in the 53rd minute to seal the win but Usama Arafat, Dominic Ayella, Emmanuel Loki all missed good opportunities to register their names on the score sheet.
KCCA in 6th place with 38 points are now six behind leaders Kitara who face Vipers on Friday in Masindi.
