Corporate Games 2024: Second outing unifies companies through sports

Despite the heavy morning rains, the Corporate family showed up in full force for the highly anticipated second outing of the Corporate Games on Sunday, April 14th, 2024.

Determined and undeterred, the corporates from various companies braved the weather, ready to participate across three disciplines: Soccer, Basketball, and Volleyball.

As the rains poured down, transforming the fields into muddy battlegrounds, the spirit of sportsmanship only grew stronger.

Among the participants were notable Chief Executive Officers, embodying the ethos of leadership and teamwork both on and off the field.

In Volleyball, CEOs and Executives from different companies came together to spike, dive, and block their way to victory.

Among them was Joe Kigozi (Deputy ED of Next Media), Dr. Andrew Ssekitoleko (the CEO St Francis Nsambya Hospital) with Dr Musaana Othiniel, Consultant and Gynecologist St Francis Nsambya Hospital who showed leadership on the court, and led their teams to victory with passion and determination.

Meanwhile, on the soccer field, Dr. Daniel M Talemwa – Executive Director TMR International Hospital, in his remarks, He commended Corporate Games Uganda for spearheading this remarkable initiative that fosters unity among companies through sports.

Dr Talemwa also highlighted the games’ benefits, emphasizing their capacity to facilitate networking among corporations, promote physical fitness, and create social and business networks.

While concluding, he expressed his gratitude to Corporate Games Uganda for the partnership with them to provide medical attention to all the participants at the corporate games and officially kicked off the match between TMR International Hospital against Airtel Uganda.

In other soccer games, Marcelin Bamwesigye, Assistant Commissioner of Immigration, Sumesh D’Cruz (CEO of PKF) and James Mugeni (GM Jesa Farm Dairies), with knack for strategy, rallied their teams through the rain-soaked pitches.

With each pass and shot, they deftly maneuvered past their opponents, showcasing the power of unity and coordination.

In the midst of games, bonds were created, and friendships were strengthened, as players from different companies cheered each other on and shared moments of sportsmanship and respect. The basketball court buzzed with excitement as teams battled it out for dominance. Players dribbled and dunked with intensity.

The Corporate Games continues to serve as a platform for teamwork, leadership, and healthy life within the corporate community.

The third outing will take place on March 12th, 2024, with Soccer, Tug of War and Netball slated as the featured disciplines.
