At least 150 football legends from across the world will converge in Rwanda’s capital city of Kigali for the 2024 Veteran Clubs World Championship (VCWC).

This will happen between 1st to 10th September 2024 as the legends take part in a tournament.

Rhyming along with the tournament will be five economic forums on Peace, Education, Health, Business & Tourism.

There will also be Gender Equality and Green Action Initiatives.

The 150 football legends will come from all the regions of the world as Europe, South America, North America, Africa, Asia and Oceania.

Retired football stars as Ronaldihhno Gaucho (Brazil), Gaizka Mendieta (Spain), Robert Pires (France), Elizabeth Hooper Charmaine (Canada), Maicon Douglas Sisenando (Brazil), Patrick Mboma (Cameroon), Tsuneyasu Miyamoto (Japan), Jimmy Gatete (Rwanda) and others will all be in Rwanda for the championship.

Ronaldo de Assis Moreira (Ronaldinho Gaúcho) will be a star attraction in Rwanda

At least 20 matches will be broadcast to the rest of the world.

The Veteran Clubs World Championship is a global platform and protected brand whose purpose is to enable renowned sports Veterans to connect, collaborate and contribute to sustainable development. Relatedly, there will be the VCWC Corporate Cup; an amateur tournament that will be played for persons under 35 years of age between 4th and 8th September 2024.

The main purpose of the VCWC Corporate Cup is to promote the values of healthy lifestyle and togetherness amongst people from different walks of life.

Locally based teams will pay $2500 with the international teams paying $5000. Each team will have a legendary player attached.

Government of Rwanda, through the Ministry of Sports and the Rwanda Development Board (Visit Rwanda) have all joined hands to make the event a success.
