The 11th Kabaka Birthday run will take place on Sunday, 7th April 2024 with the start and finishing points at Kabaka palace in Lubiri – Mengo, Kampala.

As the days get closer to the long awaited day, the excitement among Kabaka Mutebi’s subjects, well-wishers and fans is definitely boiling up.

Individuals, corporate companies and organizations, politicians, businessmen, groups and government entities have all joined this worthwhile noble cause whose theme is “Men against AIDS to save the Girl Child”.

Barely 24 hours after the office for the Speaker of Parliament bought running kits worth Ug.Shs 50,000,000, more people have followed suit.

The Uganda Patriotic League led by Muhoozi Kainerugaba who is also the Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) also swiftly joined with kits worth Ug.shs 20,000,000.

Cedric Babu Ndilima, the vice president of Uganda Patriotic League led the delegation also joined by Dr. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi (State minister for Gender, Labour and Social development), Dennis Mbidde Ssebugwawo (Uganda Patriotic League marketing chief, in-charge of MK Sports and board chairperson Corporate League), among others.

The group was welcomed at Bulange, Mengo by the prime minister of Buganda Kingdom Katikiro Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, the sports minister Owek. Robert Sserwanga, among other kingdom officials.

Uganda Patriotic League is engaged actively in mobilizing Ugandans towards the goal of national unity, peace and stability which can only be achieved by a patriotic citizenry.

The mobilization and organization targets to empower the citizens to fulfil their role in building sustainable foundations for the independence, sovereignty, and socio-economic development of their fatherland.

The Kabaka Birthday Run has become a hallmark event on Airtel Uganda and the country’s annual calendar in celebration of the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, birthday which champions noble causes that resonate with the community.

This run is supported by the lead sponsor in Airtel Uganda. Other partners include I&M Bank Uganda, Nivana Water, UNAIDS, Uganda AIDS Commission, CBS Radio, BBS Telefaina, New Vision, Daily Monitor, among others.

The kits are available at Bulange Mengo, select Airtel Uganda shops like Thobani center, Ben Kiwanuka Street and the New Tax Park.
