Kawempe Muslim LFC will be seeking to confirm their place in the semifinals on Wednesday as they take on Simba Queens FC at the ongoing CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers for CAF Women’s Champions League.
The Valley Warriors won their first game 2-0 against PVP Buyenzi of Burundi and go into today’s game in high spirits.
Equally, Simba Quuens dispatched FAD FC from Ethiopia 5-0 and victory today would guarantee their place in the last four.
Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi, the head coach of Kawempe Muslim is confident his troops have what it takes to defeat Simba Queens.
“We know they are a good team and have played at this level several times but I’m confident that my players have the ability to beat anyone,” he said.
With hosts and favourites CBE FC winning two games so far, it is highly likely they will top group A and thus both Kawempe and Simba will want to lead Group B to avoid them in the semifinals.
Kawempe Muslim will end group B business with a fixture against Minnows FAD FC on Friday.
It should be noted that only Champions get the sole ticket to represent the region at the final tournament.
