Busiro ssaza management committee confirmed the appointment of their full technical team in preparation for the 2024 Buganda Masaza football championship.

The 2022 champions held an unveiling ceremony at the lavish Das Berliner Hotel in Bulenga on Saturday, 26th May 2024.

Emuron Recoba is head coach, taking over from Ibrahim Kirya who handled the team last season.

Recoba, a coach at Kibuli secondary school had been employed at Butambala ssaza during the previous season.

“It is humbling to work with Busiro ssaza” the soft spoken coach revealed as he addressed the media.

“It takes teamwork to work in football. Everyone has a specific role to play. Us the coaches, players, managers, fans and every stakeholder. Together, we shall achieve and win the championship” Recoba stated.

Working team:

Recoba’s long-term right hand men; Moses “Muko” Kayemba (fitness coach) and Hussein Mulawa (goalkeeping trainer) are definitely part of his backroom staff.

Others:

Nasib Mukasa and Richard Lukyamuzi are the first and second assistant coaches respectively.

Meddie Lutaaya and Edrisa Nkwanga are match analysts. The team doctor is Solomon Ndawula whilst Junior Niki is the equipment manager.

As the team returns to their Ssentema fortress this season, Busiro eyes their second title in as many seasons with the latest triumph in 2022, the immediate success.

The 2024 Buganda Masaza football tournament will kick off in late June.

Telecommunication company, Airtel Uganda is the main sponsor of this annual championship played the 18 counties (Masaza’s) of Buganda Kingdom.

This tournament bars national team players as well as those in the Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League.

Bulemeezi is the reigning champion.
