Businessman Sudhir Ruparelia Named Mentor and Coordinator Of Lohana Community to drive impact in Uganda

Tycoon Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, Chairman of the Ruparelia Group and Honorary Consul of Nepal to Uganda, has been appointed as Mentor and Coordinator (Prabhari) of the Shree Lohana Mahaparishad Uganda Team under Overseas Zone 6 for the 2026-2031 leadership term.

The new appointment gives the new team roles to drive the community’s objectives and strengthening its presence and impact within Uganda.

His appointment as Mentor and Coordinator of the Lohana community is also expected to bring a wealth of leadership experience, strategic insight and organizational capacity to the community’s activities over the next five years.

This was announced last week as part of the new leadership structure of the Lohana community in Uganda, a chapter of the global Shree Lohana Mahaparishad organization, which has an estimated membership of over three million people worldwide. 

In Uganda the community’s chapter currently comprises of approximately 550 members.

The newly appointed leadership team will oversee community affairs, cultural preservation, social welfare initiatives and organizational coordination across Uganda during the next five-year term.

• Kiran Bhimjiyani – Uganda Zonal President

• Bhaskar Kotecha – Uganda Zonal Vice President

• Sanjay Thakkar – Uganda Zonal Secretary

• Janak Gadhiya – Kampala City President

• Piyush Kotecha – Jinja City President

• Sanjay Hathi – Mbale Town President

Members of the community have congratulated the newly appointed leaders and expressed optimism that the team will strengthen unity, enhance member engagement and expand the community’s contribution to national development.

Dr. Ruparelia’s profile includes serving as the Honorary Consul of Nepal to Uganda, Chairman Ruparelia Group, his work in the Ruparelia Foundation among others.

The Shree Lohana Mahaparishad is among the world’s largest umbrella organizations representing the Lohana community, connecting members through cultural, educational, charitable and social programs across multiple continents with foot prints in across Africa, Europe, Asia and North America.
