Buganda Masaza Cup 2024 (Final Group Games):

Bulange Group:

  • Kyaddondo 4-2 Bulemeezi
  • Buddu 1-1 Buluuli
  • Bugerere 0-0 Butambala

Muganzirwazza Group:

  • Ssingo 0-2 Buweekula
  • Kkooki 3-0 Mawogola
  • Kyaggwe 1-1 Gomba

Masengere Group:

  • Busujju 3-0 Buvuma
  • Ssese 2-3 Busiro
  • Mawokota 1-0 Kabula

The boys have been sieved from the men in this year’s Buganda Masaza Cup football tournament following the completion of the group stage matches.

That said, the eight quarter-finalists are known. Buddo, Kyadondo, Busujju, Kabula, Mawokota, Buwekula, Ssingo and Kyaggwe are all through to the last eight stage.

Final group stage matches:

In Bulange Group, Kyaddondo humbled visiting Bulemeezi 4-2. The visitors took the lead through Umar Bin Al-Mahad and Marial Santos Agok.

Kyaddondo paid back in the same currency via Denis Kiggundu and Ismail Keita Ndifuna.

Buddu shared the spoils with Buluuli in Masaka city, at the Kitovu Arena.

Patrick Ssekyanzi netted for Buddu whilst man of the match Bruno Mukwaya had the say for visiting Buluuli.

At the Ntenjeru playground, Bugerere and Butambala played to a no scoring draw.

Buddo advanced as the group leaders and Kyadondo played second fiddle.

Muganzirwazza Group:

Buweekula won 2-0 on the road over Ssingo at Mityana Ssaza ground with Jimmy Kalema scoring twice.

Kkooki smiled to a 3-0 result over Mawogola.

In Mukono, Kyaggwe and the record winners Gomba settled for a one-all draw.

Godfrey Arijole scored for Kyaggwe whilst Jeremiah Kabula got Gomba’s goal.

Ssingo, Buweekula and Kyaggwe progressed from Muganzirwazza group.

Masengere Group:

Busujju maintained their rich vein of form in the season with a convincing 3-0 win over islanders Buvuma.

Simon Kizito, Boniface Okello and Lauben Lubwama netted for Busujju, an entity coached by Hussein Kato.

Busiro won 3-2 over another Island team Ssese.

Mawokota needed a 1-0 win over Kabula for the victory with Mathias Kasadha the hero.

Busujju led the standings in Masengere group and Kabula were second placed at the expense of 2022 champions Busiro, Ssese and Buvuma.

A new champion awaits to be crowned after the dismissal performance of last year’s winners, Bulemeezi.

Airtel Uganda, Centenary Bank, Cbs radio, BBS Telefaina, Kansai Plascon are among the sponsors for this tournament that does not permit FUFA Big League, Top flight division and national team players.
