Arsenal set to complete £50m Ben White transfer
The Gunners have been chasing the centre-back, who has recently made his senior England debut and a deal is almost complete
Arsenal are set to complete the signing of Ben White from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The England international has been linked with a big-money move to Arsenal for the past few weeks and JoriPress understands that Arsenal will sign the defender with the two teams close to agreeing a £50millon deal.
Arsenal had an initial bid of around £40million rejected by the Seagulls, but were not disheartened and have returned with an increased offer for the centre-back who is on duty with England at Euro 2020.
As reported by David Ornstein, the two clubs are close to a £50million agreement now, with the Seagulls wanting the full fee up front, while Arsenal are willing to pay £45million with £5million in add-ons.
White is understood to have agreed personal terms on a move, with the dotting of Is and crossing of Ts now all to be done.
Arsenal have been in the market for defensive reinforcements for some time, with there likely to be a number of ins and outs in Mikel Arteta's back-line.
David Luiz leaves the club at the end of his contract, while Konstantinos Mavropanos is set to complete a loan with an obligation to buy move to Bundesliga side Stuttgart, having impressed on loan there last season.
William Saliba is also likely to go out on loan. The signing of White is expected to be followed by that of Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga.
