Swangz Avenue’s rising star, Zafaran, has opened up about a past relationship that ended due to financial struggles.
In an interview on The Deep Talk with Mr. Henrie, the singer explained how her ex-boyfriend failed to come through when she needed him most.
Zafaran shared that during a tough time when she was only earning Shs 30,000 per performance in a band, her salary was delayed, leaving her unable to pay rent.
I was living in a place that cost Shs 100,000 per month, but when the rent was due, I didn’t have the money.
Desperate for help, she turned to her boyfriend, who promised to send the money.
However, weeks went by with no response or support from him, and he even stopped answering her calls. Feeling abandoned and let down, Zafaran made the decision to end the relationship.
Despite the attention she receives from admirers today, the singer revealed that she isn’t looking for love at the moment.
