Rogers Torach and Yunus Sentamu scored either of Hakim Kiwanuka’s goal as Vipers rallied from a goal down to beat champions SC Villa at Kitende on Saturday.

Villa had a good start to the game and went ahead in the 36th minute through Kiwanuka well taken goal after a brilliant through ball from Elvis Ngonde.

But the lead lasted just two minutes as Sentamu drew both teams level with calamitous Masembe the culprit in Villa defence.

The defender who has been preferred ahead of Cyrus Kibande at the heart of defence was caught in possession with his intended back pass to goalie Jean Brady Wokorach was stolen by Milton Karisa to set up Sentamu who tapped in an empty net.

Masembe was at again in the 54th minute as he slept on duty allowed defender Torach to head home off from a corner.

The introduction of Tony Atukunda, Isaac Mpagi and Denis Kaka Omony for Villa didn’t help as the hosts, managed by John Ayala Luyinda in the absence of suspended Nikola Kavazovic went for more security with the substitution of moses Waiswa for Siraje Sentamu.

In the end, the venoms held on for all three points that take their tally to seven points just like URA, Wakiso Giants, UPDF and Express FC three behind leaders KCCA.

After the international break, the Vipers will visit Wakiso Giants while Villa who have lost away games so far this season will host Bright Stars at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.

The league continues on Sunday with Maroons hosting newcomers Lugazi at Luzira.
