UTAMU 8th Graduation: Chancellor UTAMU Bitature urges Graduates to utilize the knowledge gained to serve as a strong future foundation.
Uganda Technology And Management University (UTAMU) held its 8th graduation ceremony on 24th November 2023 at their main Kungu Campus where graduates completed their studies with Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificates in different disciplines.
The 8th graduation -The class of 2023 attended by parents and stakeholders of the university marked the second ceremony since the establishment of the Kungu campus in 2022.
While congratulating the graduates, The Chancellor UTAMU Dr Patrick Bitature urged the graduates to focus on building a future foundation by taking into account the knowledge acquired while at the university using the same pace at which they joined the university level.
“I encouraged the graduates that as they step into the next phase of their lives, they carry forward the same spirit that has brought them to this moment. The challenges you have conquered and the knowledge you have gained will undoubtedly serve as strong foundations for the future” he said
The Chancellor there gave out Certificates to the best students; including Lukaaga Fred (First Class), Baisani Thomas from the School of Computing and Engineering, and Nannyombi Josephine, the best student School of Business.

The Chairman Board, Prof. V. Baryamureeba in his opening remarks at told the graduates that their success to the graduation level should be considered the beginning of a new phase in their lives.
“Your hard work, determination, and unwavering commitment have brought you to this moment. As you stand on the threshold of a new beginning, remember that this is just the beginning of your journey. As we gather here today, we proudly acknowledge that this is the second graduation ceremony to be held on the beautiful surface of Kungu Campus, our main campus. Since its inauguration in 2022” he said
He further added that UTAMU is on the brink of a momentous accomplishment, eagerly awaiting the final approval of our Charter that the University Management has painstakingly navigated through the necessary steps and garnered a series of approvals from the relevant authorities.
He said that the achievement of the charter will be the crowning glory of years of relentless dedication and hard work from both the university and its committed stakeholders.
The Vice Chancellor (CPA) Dr. Joseph B.Y Lubega said "As we stand here today, it's impossible not to recognize the incredible transformation that Uganda Technology and Management University has undergone over the years."
He also explains that Kungu Campus operates in harmony with our Bugoloobi Campus, and together, they form the backbone of UTAMU's commitment to academic excellence and holistic education. As we witness the success of our graduates today
Meanwhile, Prof. Charles Buregeya Niwagaba-Chairperson UTAMU Council said that UTAMU is striving to be the MIT of Africa. Together with you, as our alumni ambassadors, we are confident that we will achieve this dream.
