Lugazi FC held hosts Kitara FC to a goalless draw in a Uganda Premier League clash played on Tuesday at Royal Park in Butema.
Kitara started brightly, creating early chances, but forward Patrick Kaddu was denied by Lugazi goalkeeper Juma Mutebi.
The hosts continued to press, and midway through the first half, Ronald Otti narrowly missed the target with a flicked effort from Kaddu’s cross.
The second half was heavily affected by a downpour that left the pitch waterlogged and disrupted the flow of the game.
Both sides struggled to adapt to the conditions, opting for safety-first clearances rather than building attacks.
Kitara came closest to breaking the deadlock late on when John Bosco Byaruhanga unleashed a powerful effort, but Mutebi produced a superb save to preserve the point for Lugazi.
The result sees Kitara remain in fifth place with 36 points, while Lugazi sits 11th on the table with 28 points from 24 matches.
Up next, Lugazi will host Bright Stars on Friday, April 25, while Kitara will face SC Villa on Saturday, April 26.
