Ugandan goalkeeper Nsumba joins Chitipa United in Malawi


Former Uganda Hippos (U-20) goalkeeper Venacious Nsumba has joined Malawi top tier side Chitipa United Football Club.
Nsumba joined the Chitipa town-based entity on a year-long deal as confirmed by the club general secretary Watson Kabaghe.
For a fortnight, Nsumba was training with the club also christened as “The Lions of Fort Hill” who host their home matches at the 20,000 seater Karonga stadium in Northern Malawi.
“I am glad to be at Chitipa United Football Club and ready to give my best here (in Malawi)” Nsumba revealed.


Nsumba is a promising goalkeeper with a relatively good height, excellent shot stopping skills and a great game reader.
He commenced his football career at Peace for children Sports Academy in Kisenyi.
Then, he moved to Mydel Youth Academy and All Winners FC academy in Lubaga, played High school football with Uganda Marty’s High School Lubaga.
He has been part and parcel of Wakiso Giants football club development.
Last year, Nsumba traveled to France where he held a trial stint at Hyeres Football Club in the national football league two.

He has had trials in South Africa with Pretoria Callies Football Club, who spotted him from South Africa’s best Kasi football tournament known as “Philly’s Games.
Until his departure to Malawi, he was a member at Kajjansi United Football club in Buganda regional league.
Nsumba was in the stands as he watched Chitipa United fall away to MAFCO 1-0.
He is expected to make his long-awaited debut this Saturday when Chitipa United host Silver Strikers.
Nsumba is represented by Malawi based TS Sports Agency.
