Retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sam Omalla, has passed on at Mulago Hospital after a battle with cancer.
Sam Omalla had been bedridden for a while, with reports of his hospitalisation dating back to last year.
Sam Omalla is known to many for his stint as the Head of Operations at the Kampala Metropolitan Police and was a common face during the 2011 walk-to-work protests and other various riots in the city.
Details about his burial are yet to be revealed, but several people, including government officials, have shared messages of condolences with the late’s family and friends.
May his soul rest in peace!
