Mr. Isaac Ssemakadde the President of ULS, while delivering welcome remarks virtually, said "We chose Sam Kalega Njuba because he embodied the courage and conviction of a radical, not as a destroyer, but as a reformer. He stood as a role model, a master, an anchor, and a source of motivation. His enduring legacy, particularly through his book 'The Betrayal', continues to guide us."
Maj. Gen (Rtd) Kahinda Otafire
The Minister of Internal Affairs Hon. Maj. Gen (Rtd) Kahinda Otafire stated, "I was here during Obote I and Amin’s regime — and I can tell you, some of the things happening today are simply unacceptable. Ladies and gentlemen, do not die in the sin of silence."
The Lord Mayor and a lawyerErias Lukwago while challenging the Attorney General on what he has done to protect citizens who have suffered political persecution using ULS President, currently in exile, as a prime example, specifically asked the AG on what inspiration he draws from the legacy of former Rule of Law icon Sam Kalega Njuba.
“Back in the days, according to Sam Kalega Njuba, the Attorney General worked tirelessly to protect both citizens and politicians. Today, our President of the Law Society Isaac Ssemakadde is a fugitive - he's in exile. You saw him yesterday—holding his innocent baby, not even a year old, during the General Meeting. What have you done, as Attorney General, to protect leaders like him?" he stated
Mrs. Getrude Njuba
Mrs. Getrude Njuba, Veteran Politician and Widow to the Late Rule of Law Icon and Past President, Sam Kalega Njuba, SC said "As Africans, we must stop destroying ourselves like nsenene trapped in a kaveera—while our tormentors, the former colonial powers, stand by watching, laughing, and waiting to finish us off. We need unity and love for one another, even when we belong to different political camps. It’s time to come together and protect our continent. We need to be back on track of fighting imperialism instead of ourselves."
Appreciation and Gratitude.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including Minister General Kahinda Otafire, Lord Mayor, and Mama Gertrude Njuba, Sam Njuba's wife. The ULS was thanked for signing an MOU with the Njuba family, demonstrating appreciation for Sam Njuba's contributions.
