- Masaka SS 0-3 Mbogo Mixed
- Mbogo College 1-3 Kakungulu Memorial
Among the keenly awaited indoor sports disciplines at the UMEA Solidarity Games remains Table Tennis (T.T).
The 2024 UMEA Solidarity Games hosted by Masaka Secondary School once again provided the menu for T.T.
As action smashed off, there was mouthing action per gender during the opening day on Good Friday, 29th March 2024.
Kibuli Secondary School and the famous Mbogo Schools (Mbogo Mixed, Mbogo College and Mbogo High) remain big favourites and once again showed potential during day one.
Spurred by national team stars Samuel Ankunda Mbabazi, Phillip Napokooli and Enock Balyewunya, Kibuli won 3-0 over nemesis Kakungulu Memorial.
Mbogo Mixed boys team condemned the hosts Masaka SS 3-0 but Mbogo College revenged with a 3-1 win over Mbogo College.
For the girls; Mbogo High overcame Masaka S.S 3-0. The healthy derby between Mbogo College and Mbogo Mixed was won by the former 3-0.
Action will continue on Holy Saturday with the games expected to wind down on Easter Monday.
Table Tennis aside, the UMEA Solidarity Games also entail football (boys and girls), Volleyball (boys and girls), Handball (boys and girls), Netball (girls only) and Badminton.
Over the years, the UMEA Solidarity Games have provided that viable platform for Islam faith founded schools to nurture talents as they also prepare for other USSSA games as ball games 1 and 2.
