While making his heartfelt remarks, Mrs. Jyotsna Ruparelia, said the community outreach service holds a deep personal meaning for the family because it reflects Rajiv’s strong belief in giving back to society.
“This eye camp is very special to us because it is in memory of our son Rajiv, who always believed in philanthropy and supporting communities in need,” she said.

Speaker Among appluded the Ruparelia Foundation for complementing government efforts under the leadership of Sudhir Ruparelia, by extending vital health services to underserved communities across the country, committing full support to the cause including her presence at the hospital in Bukedea during the camp.
Sudhir Ruparelia, Chairman of the Ruparelia Group, said that camp will not stop in bukedea but will be rolled out other regions of Uganda including Kasese district as a proposed next destination aimed at reaching underserved communities across the country.
"The Eye camp is an ongoing programme as an initiative of the Ruparelia Foundation. Next is Kasese, I want to thank Anita Among for the love she always showed Rajiv while he was alive and for standing with our family even today. Your support to this eye camp reflects your deep concern for the people of Bukedea and Uganda. This will become a regular outreach held every two years in different regions so that more Ugandans can benefit' he said
Sheena Ruparelia said that "The RR Eye Camp in Bukedea will be our fourth eye camp, so many of these diseases are prevented, we believe with this, we can help families see that they are able to work and for children to be able to go back to school"
Organisers expect to provide free eye screenings and basic treatment for at least 2,000 people, conduct 300 cataract surgeries, and perform 50 specialised surgeries for children, among other services, implemented in partnership with Mulago National Referral Hospital and C-Care, bringing together specialised medical teams to deliver critical eye care services to communities that often lack access to such treatment.
Dr. N. Grace from Mulago National Refereal hospital said they will be wroking with bukedea hospital to have the lsits of patients to benefit from the camp and a follow up process for the next 3 months.
The initiative is also supported by several corporate partners including Swastik Pharmaceuticals, Dembe Trading Enterprises, Abacus Pharma, Goldstar Insurance, Pepsi, Royal Pharma 2011 Ltd, Joban Group, Risha International Ltd, Lato Milk and Gittoes Pharmaceuticals.
