SC Villa lock horns with Vipers SC in a Uganda Premier League title race defining match on Tuesday at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku with either targeting maximum points.

With Vipers ahead of Villa by a point and three adrift of leaders of Kitara who are on 44 points, the game at Wankulukuku is without doubt a crucial contest.

Villa come into the game on the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw away to Busoga while Vipers are buoyed by two wins in succession against URA and UPDF.

The game also marks the first since the club officially confirmed partying company with Livingstone Mbabazi leaving Richard Wasswa with the mantle to take full charge.

Wasswa, who has been in charge of four matches so far this season and won all of them knows what to expect.

“We expect a tough game but it’s the hard work and determination that we hope will secure us all points,” said Wasswa.

“The preparations like for every other game have been good and its all systems go,” he added.

Villa winger Hakim Kiwanuka admits his side’s weakness has been failure to convert the numerous chances they create but says the coaches have worked on that.

“We believe that whatever the coaches have given us going into this fixture will help us come out successful,” Kiwanuka told the club website.

“We’ve worked on our finishing since we’ve been creating enough chances recently but not converting to our maximum. Every one of us is ready to take on the task ahead tomorrow.”

Team News

Gavin Kizito and Misi Ssemugera missed the draw at Busoga due to suspension but are now available for Dusan Stojanovic side.

Vipers could be without right back Ashraf Mandela with his booking against UPDF taking his tally to three cards which results into suspension.

Key Players

The hosts will rely mainly on Patrick Kakande, Charles Lwanga, Umar Lutalo and Ronald Ssekiganda for inspiration while Allan Okello, Bright Anukani and Eric Kambale will be key for the Venoms.
