“A useless evening in Mbale,” the full-time post reads via Onduparaka’s official Twitter page.

It was a tough outing for Onduparaka who lost 2-1 to Kataka in the FUFA Big League clash at Mbale Municipal stadium on Sunday.

This is not the first time a team cries foul of poor officiating in a game against Kataka while many recall the ugly scenes witnessed in the game they faced Kyetume at the end of the previous campaign.

Latif Senkubuge and Isaac Balyejusa scored the two goals for the hosts while James Jarieko pulled back one for the visitors.

The visitors thought they had taken the lead through Jafar Kerepi in the 19th minute but instead the goal was ruled out citing an offside.

The call was hugely contested since the player cited to be offside is not the one who had guided the ball into the back of the net.

Four minutes later, Junior Adama whipped in a darling delivery in front of goal but Benard Ndifuna’s touch guided the ball inches above the frame.

In the 35th minute Ezra Bida slotted the ball into the net but once again it was ruled out as the visitors once again expressed their discomfort.

On the other hand, Senkubuge fired the hosts ahead with a header on the long throw-in as the home crowd got onto their feet in jubilation.

Before the end of the first stanza, Nelson Mandela wasted a glorious chance after his flick went narrowly wide in a quick attack.

With ten minutes left on the clock, Jarieko levelled matters breathing hope and enthusiasm into the visitors’ camp who had earlier failed to convert several chances.

However, before restart as the Caterpillars were coming from celebrations, Ndifuna received a second booking and Onduparaka were reduced to ten men.

Balyejusa’s powerful effort in the 89th minute forced way into the back of the net as the hosts sealed a hard fought victory.

The victory leaves Kataka in fourth position on the log with 33 points collected in 19 games played thus far.
