Ruparelia Foundations donates to Kamwokya Research Lab members and residents in the 2025 Christmas Outreach charity campaign.
The Ruparelia Foundation visit the Ghetto Research Lab in Mulago Kamwokya on December 5, 2025, as part of their annual charity drive to spread joy to vulnerable communities, honoring the late Rajiv Ruparelia whose legacy of a philanthropist heart according to his sister Sheena Ruparelia continue to shaped many of the Foundation’s most impactful initiatives and will continue to donate to the vulnerable communities.
“We decided to continue with the work of my brother Rajiv with who had a true passion of giving to the community. His spirit of giving continues to guide the organisation as it reaches out to vulnerable groups during the festive season” Sheena Ruparelia said.
Sheens commended the Gheto Research Lab for the work they aare doing in supporting the wellbeing of the residents and members of the group in Kamwokya area.
“The Gheto Research Lab support the maintenance of the community, Ruparelia foundation will continue to support them” she said.
Children recieving their gifts
Mr. Gideon Gideon Kirumira donated UGX 1 Million towards supporting the work of the Gheto Research Lab in the Kamwokya community.
Among the Christmas gifts donated include; assorted items such as mattresses, Sanitary products, scholastic materials, packed food items, candies among others.
Ghetto Research Lab known for innovative, sustainable projects, like creating plastic bricks from collected waste to build structures like eco-toilets, which aligns with the Foundation's community development focus on improving community infrastructure and supporting vulnerable populations in Kamwokya through charitable initiatives.
The Ruparelia Foundation has a history of supporting projects in Kamwokya, including partnering with the Ghetto Research Lab (GRL) to build sanitary facilities for a school in 2020, funded by their Royal Ascot Goat Races.
The Ruparelia Foundation recently launched its December charity campaign with a focus on community care and human connection.
The Foundation aims to shift attention from celebration alone to a deeper reflection on shared humanity.
Offloading the items in Kamwokya
The programme will according to Sheena cover four vulnerable areas arounf Kampala and beyond from the fifth to the thirteenth of December, including visits to community centres and schools across Kampala. Some places selected are Ghetto Research Lab in Mulago Kamwokya, Chrystal Children’s Centre in Ssebuliba Kulambiro, Ekilawullo Community in Kyebando and King’s Ways Academy Junior School in Nansana Town Village among others.
