Ruparelia Foundation Leads Massive Community Clean-Up and Tree-Planting Initiative at Uganda Police Children’s School, Kibuli

KAMPALA, UGANDA — Ahead of the official school reopening next week, the Ruparelia Foundation has led a comprehensive community sanitation and environmental greening exercise at the Uganda Police Children’s School in Kibuli. 

The initiative brought together hundreds of local residents, friends, and well-wishers who volunteered to clear mud and drain stagnant water. 

These unfavorable conditions had previously put the health of returning learners at severe risk of disease outbreaks. 

Restoring Dignity and Sanitation:

Driven by the foundation's core mission of community support and enriching lives, the exercise equipped volunteers with critical sanitation tools.

 The Ruparelia Foundation delivered essential supplies directly to the school administration, including: Liquid cleaning soap for classrooms, Wheelbarrows, Shovels and hoes, Brushes and brooms among others.

Agnes Onduri Awoori, a senior administrator at the school, warmly commended Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia and the foundation for their kind hearts. 

She called upon other capable Ugandans to replicate this spirit by supporting vital public community facilities with basic needs.

Crispin Kaheru, a Commissioner at the Uganda Human Rights Commission, donated the fruit trees for the exercise.

Environmental Preservation and Legacy:

In addition to the rigorous physical clean-up, a tree-planting exercise took place across the school grounds to cultivate a healthier ecosystem for the learners. Crispin Kaheru, a Commissioner at the Uganda Human Rights Commission, generously donated the fruit trees for the event.

Fruit trees were planted to honor prominent Ugandan leaders, cultural figures, and visionaries, including:

The Late Rajiv Ruparelia whose life-long passion for uplifting underprivileged children inspired the drive, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, honored with a guava tree planted by the pupils, First Lady Hon. Janet K. Museveni planted by school administrators, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba,and Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia Chairman of the Ruparelia Group. 

Other volunteers joined the children in planting these trees as a permanent symbol of the enduring bond and commitment the Ruparelia family maintains toward youth education and welfare.

Established in 2012 by Dr. Sudhir and Mrs. Jyotsna Ruparelia, the Ruparelia Foundation operates under the banner of “Enriching Lives Together.” The foundation works extensively across Uganda to champion positive transformation in health, education, sports, environmental sustainability, and direct community relief.
