NWSC registers record performance in FY2025/26

National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) on Friday 17th April 2026 held a Biannual Performance Evaluation Workshop & Stakeholder Engagement aimed at providing accountability, reflection, and enhancing collaboration with stakeholders and customers. 

According to management the engagement also created a plardor. To receive feedback from valued customers and stakeholders and leaders right from from LC level, RCC’s, Mayors, among other leaders.

The Managing Director NWSC Eng. Silver Mugisha said that “Our goal is clear: every community we serve must have reliable access to safe and clean water. Innovation, partnerships, and sustainable investment will be central to delivering water for all”

Mr Noah Serumaga from NWSC while presenting stje performance of up to February 2026, highlighted steady progress in service delivery, infrastructure expansion, and revenue performance under the ongoing Water Supply Stabilisation Programme.

“Water is not just a service, it is a foundation for health, dignity, and economic transformation” she said.

The Corporation continues to demonstrate strong operational momentum, with monthly water production standing at approximately 14.2 million cubic metres, surpassing targets by about 2 percent.  

Water sales have also improved to around 5.3 million cubic metres, reflecting growing demand and improved service reach. In the area of infrastructure expansion, the rollout of public standpipes has exceeded expectations, with 2,452 installed, representing about 73 percent above the set target.

New water connections have also grown by 7 percent, signalling continued progress in expanding access to safe water.

Revenue performance remains stable, with monthly collections averaging about 48.73 billion shillings and overall collection efficiency at approximately 99.5 percent, reflecting strengthened financial discipline and customer compliance
