By Darlington Mabonga
The senior presidential advisor on political affairs office of the president Moses Byaruhanga has challenged people of Buganda region to appreciate what president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has done for them in terms of economic empowerment and the general infrastructure development by giving him a block vote come January 15th 2026.
Byaruhanga who is the current most senior serving political strategy officer in state house rank and file that continues executing high level presidential political assignments spoke to this website during an exclusive interview at his Okello house based headquarters in kampala 21st December 2025.
He highlighted the achievements the NRM administration has attained in the last five years and what they plan for the country in the next term of office once the population gives them the mandate to lead again.
He said the president, exclusively focussing at what they have done for Buganda through the NRM manifesto implementation strategy workplan they have effectively delivered above 85% of pledges to the country's development agenda therefore the need for Buganda to offer him a block vote come 15th January 2026 .
‘We strongly believe that Museveni has done over 85% of the NRM manifesto development pledge which is the campaign contract with the people of Uganda who had voted him into office for the sixth straight term 2021/26’noted Byaruhanga.
He said reports indicate that Buganda region has over the years deliberately been taking the lion share of the state resource envelope in terms of infrastructure development agenda which includes the Road Network, schools, hospitals and economic empowerment program likes Emyooga, PDM, women entrepreneurship fund, youth livelihood fund and the GROW project for exclusively empowering women in business among others which have evidently benefitted millions of citizens.
He observed that basing on this trend of effective service delivery, the NRM government has achieved, including prioritizing security for persons and property, promoting both the rule of law and democratic governance systems by way of allowing citizens to freely participate in discussions of topical issues affecting their day today lives among others.
Based on these achievements, it is incumbent upon all sober minded citizens within Buganda who constitute the majority voting block across the country to appreciate these milestones by voting Museveni back in office for perhaps the last time.
Byaruhanga did not rule out shortcomings and gaps within the leadership structures especially issues that may require urgent attention in the next term of president Museveni [2026/31] would be to focus on fiercely fighting corruption which remains the biggest challenge at the heart of the government however collectively with the support from stakeholders, the country can still kick out this monster.
He commended all the stakeholders particularly from both the civil society organizations [CSOs] and private sector for relentlessly working with the government to serve the citizens of Uganda as well as putting government on the spot to correct any possible mistakes committed unintentionally which helps them improve on their service delivery agenda.
He wished all the citizens a happy and joyous festive season and happy new year with an appeal for all to vote for Museveni come 15th January 2026 for continuity of their improved service delivery doctrine.
