Hard-working midfielder Winnie Babirye is back to the FUFA Women Super League, at her previous home, She Makerere Women Football Club.

The move comes barely a season at Kenya’s premier league entity Vihiga Queen Women Football Club.

Last March, Babirye had left the Ivory Tower funded side for the murky professional waters in Kenya when she signed a two-year employment contract at Vihiga Queens, joining Anita Namata who has since returned home to join money-bugs, Kampala Queens.

Perhaps, with a season to complete her contract, Babirye called it quits despite having made a bold mark at the club.

Vastly experienced and a leader of sorts on and off the field of play, the charismatic Babirye returns “home” to pursue her career that commenced back in the days at Namirembe Standard Academy, Mukono.

Her experience emits volume having featured at Buikwe, Toro Queens, Lady Doves, Kampala Queens and lately She Makerere in Uganda.

Besides the midfield department, Babirye is also capable of making an immense contribution as a wing back, wing attacker and false nine; justifying her utility component that gives any football coach the necessary smile as he or she assembles the pieces to fill the missing puzzle.

She is expected to play a crucial role for She Makerere in the second half of the upcoming FUFA Women Super League.
