Max Aarons and James Maddison tipped to sign for Arsenal on transfer deadline day

Arsenal have signed five players so far this summer and are tipped to strengthen the squad before the window shuts on Tuesday

Max Aarons and James Maddison tipped to sign for Arsenal on transfer deadline day

It has already been a busy summer transfer window for Arsenal and there’s a chance more business will be done on deadline day.

The Gunners have been the biggest spenders in the Premier League so far, bringing in Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Martin Odegaard for a combined £135million.

But it has not benefited them as yet, with Mikel Arteta's side enduring a torrid start to the new Premier League campaign.

They have yet to score a goal and have started the season with three straight defeats to sit bottom of the table.

Attention may well be on outgoings today, but the Gunners could do with some more reinforcements too, if their form on the pitch is anything to go by.

With that in mind, bookmakers believe Mikel Arteta may get one final present before the window shuts.

Houssem Aouar, Lyon.

What’s there to say about this transfer that hasn’t been said before?

Aouar was close to swapping France for England last summer, before a move reportedly broke down.

Lyon are willing to let the playmaker leave on loan now but there’s a catch – north London rivals Tottenham are the current favourites to sign him at 2/1.

The Gunners are 11/4 to pip Spurs to his signature and his favoured No. 8 shirt is available in the Emirates Stadium dressing room.

James Maddison, Leicester

Another player who has been linked with a move to north London not only this summer but last year as well.

With Arsenal yet to score a goal in the Premier League this season and currently bottom of the league, it’s no surprise that the club are tipped with creative players.

Maddison has been top of the club’s list according to football.london but the price has been a sticking point for some time with the Foxes wanting over £60million.

Despite that, Arsenal are still favourites to sign the star at 6/1.

Max Aarons, Norwich City

Bellerin’s time at Arsenal looks like it is coming to an end.

Cedric has struggled so far this season so Aaron’s makes sense.

The 21-year-old was tipped to leave the Canaries when they were relegated from the Premier League in the 2020/2021 season.

However, he opted to help the club return to England’s top-flight at the first time of asking, putting in a number of impressive displays in the Championship.

Valued at £19.4million according to transfermarkt, this should be a priority for Edu on deadline day and at 5/1, the Gunners are favourites.

Their nearest rivals for his services are once again Spurs at 8/1 so the club have a fight on their hands.

Yves Bissouma, Brighton

Having secured White from Brighton this summer already, communication lines are well and truly open and Arsenal should take advantage of that with the signing of Bissouma.

The midfielder would be the perfect partner for not only Thomas Partey but should the Ghanian continue to be hampered by injuries, he would link up with with new signing Lokonga.

It won’t be an easy signing to make, with a number of Premier League clubs sniffing around the dynamic player.

At 8/1, Arsenal are not favourites, Liverpool are at 5/2. But Edu has an advantage given the aforementioned White deal and it would be a major coup if the club’s technical director could make one more Seagull a Gunner on deadline day.
