Maj. Gen. Bainomugisha commends Brig. Lukyamuzi for tackling land grabbing task

The commandant of the UPDF Military Police force Maj. Gen. William Bainomugisha has congratulated the presidential special taskforce on land matters and environment [PSTLM& E] at state house for creating a positive impact in cracking the wipe on clandestine land grabbing mafias who have continued displacing families due to greed for free land acquisition saying his force would support such endeavors.
Bainomugisha made the remarks 20th December 2025 as chief guest at the taskforce colorful end of year appreciation celebration ceremony marking a landmark achievements and dedication for service delivery which event took place at their headquarters at Aggrey zone Natete parish Lubaga division near Mengo Lubiri Buganda kingdom palace.
He expressed deep concern that some personnel among inter government agencies have reportedly been implicated at being at the center of aiding or abetting the land grabbing scandals which development should not be tolerated at all saying such acts paint a bad picture of the government.
He pledged his commitment to continue extending support to the taskforce by providing Military police officers to execute land recovery operations of land grabbed by the mafias anywhere across the country as a joint implementation of the presidential directive.
‘Comrade Lukyamuzi, you have a big task ahead of you to enforce this directive by fighting off these seemingly well entrenched Network of land grabbers and we are all sure the public is watching to see the outcome, he counseled adding that there was need to address the public land systems legislation to effectively address these bottlenecks which just escalated in the recent past.
He pledged to work closely with Maj.Gen.Proscovia Nalweyiso and Brig. Lukyamuzi in ensuring that they jointly use available Military, legal and political resources to dismantle this clandestine racket of mafias who continue to tarnish the good image of the president and government at large.
The head of the presidential special taskforce on land matters and environment [PSTLM& E] at state house Brig. Gen. Moses Shaban Lukyamuzi appealed to the president to grant financial support towards their proposed planned expansion project which includes secure own headquarters, increase operational fund budget, boast human resources envelop and acquisition of transport for mobility purposes among other strategic and operational gaps.
He commended Bainomugisha for honoring their invitation saying they look forward to building their joint capacity to carry out more recovery operations such that justice for the land grab victims is restored
The taskforce head of operations and spokesman Ssempagala Jamins said they have so far reached and covered over 80 districts and rolled out over 200 field recovery operations which have yielded positive outcomes however decried the lack of sufficient logistics to better their game.
The taskforce awarded and recognized Lt. Umar Katimbo the commander of the squad for carrying out strategic successful operations which yielded positive impact on the community and urged all staff to be disciplined, observe integrity and exhibit a high degree of professionalism if they are to counted among warriors of fighting for equal land justice for the vulnerable citizens.
