Wakiso: The Katikiro of Buganda Owek Charles Peter has commended the board of governors [BoG] of Trinity College Nabbingo for their strategic vision of providing a holistic well-grounded education system capable of empowering the girl child.to become undisputed potential future leaders

Mayiga made the remarks as chief guest over the weekend during celebrations marking 84 years of Trinity College existence held at the college sports arena in Wakiso District.

The main celebrant was the Bishop of Masaka Diocese Rt Rev Serverus Jjumba who during his homily encouraged the parents to send their children to schools such as Nabbingo because they command a well-grounded  both faith and secular enriched education system that  trains and  nurtures the girls for future responsibilities.

Both Mayiga and Jjumba began the day with the planting of commemorative trees in appreciation of the dedicated efforts of providing quality education to the girls at the college.

The leaders later officially unveiled the proposed new school gate, a landmark project that symbolizes the College's continued growth and commitment to excellence as it celebrates 84 years of nurturing generations of leaders.

Bishop Jjumba said “Our young people must remain faithful to God, committed to their studies, and dedicated to serving others with love and humility. As we celebrate 84 years of Trinity College Nabbingo, I pray that the Holy Trinity continues to guide, protect and bless this great institution and all who support its mission.”

The chairperson of the construction Committee for the proposed UGX 14bn Trinity junior school  project and cohort head for the 1970s Owek Cotilda Nakatte Kikomeko thanked the church leadership for providing the land that shall house the new junior school saying initiative s to kick start construction works could get underway soon.

Nakatte currently the minister for education, social services and office of the Nabagereka at Mengo appealed to all the old girls, well-wishers and friends of the college to raise up with both financial and technical support to junior school construction project.

The college headmistress Immaculate Nasozi Lwanga congratulated all the stakeholders for the support extended to the college's development agenda.

She said the college posted good results in both UACE and UCE as all the candidate girls excelled and have since transitioned both to Universities and HSC classes back at the college.
