Kandi Burruss is getting candid and opening up about her experience with Ozempic.

Kandi Burruss Opens Up About Her Time On Ozempic
On Tuesday, June 25, Page Six published an exclusive interview with Burruss conducted via the outlet’s podcast, ‘Virtual Reali-Tea.’ During the conversation, Burruss explained that she’s prioritizing her fitness in 2024 and is on a weight loss journey.
The former ‘RHOA’ admitted that she also tried the diabetes-turned-popular weight loss drug Ozempic in 2023.
“Last year, I tried it… and I had saw so many people that were trying it, and they were losing weight, so, I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to try this,'” Burruss recalled. “And I didn’t lose any weight.”
Burruss explained that people began to tell her something was “wrong” or that she “needed a higher dosage.”
“And, you know, my doctor was like, ‘I don’t know what the problem is. I’m not seeing this in other people,'” Burruss explained.
The former ‘RHOA’ star explained that the medication failed to curb her appetite. Additionally, Burruss said that if one looks at her social media, one will notice that she actually gained weight between last summer and now.
The ‘RHOA’ Alum Talks About Her Failed Results
Burruss explained that she’s now come to understand that Ozempic “doesn’t work for everybody.” However, she was initially discouraged by her body’s reaction to the medication.
“The sad thing about it is when you see it work for other people and it doesn’t work for you, it makes you depressed,” the 48-year-old said. “…It makes you feel like, ‘What’s wrong with me? Why is it not working for me?'”
The reality star said she eventually decided not to “worry about it” and resumed her poor eating habits. Ultimately, Burruss explained that after some time of forgetting about her weight loss commitment, she decided to resume her journey.
“I’m feeling good,” she said about her current weight loss plan. “I talked to a trainer, and he’s putting together a good workout plan for me. While I’m on tour, I’m going to make the most of the gyms at the hotels, and I’m going to work out so many days a week, stick to… eating correctly, and… see how it goes.”
Furthermore, Burruss concluded by explaining that she’s now focused on getting back to her “best self.”
Another Reality Star Recently Spoke About Their Weight Loss Journey
Burruss isn’t the only reality star who has recently gotten candid about their weight loss journey. As The Shade Room previously reported, earlier this month, ‘Flavor of Love’ star Deelishis posted a video of her dancing in her home.
One social media user reacted to the clip with a question about her weight loss.
“Why u losing so much weight @iamsodeelishis,” they wrote.
In response, Deelishis explained that she made a choice to cut back on consuming processed food, and her weight naturally fell off.
Ultimately, the question prompted Deelishis to take to Instagram Live to discuss her health in more depth and why it’s important for her to prioritize it as she ages.
